If you’re a zoomer in the market for rehirement (a term coined by Zoomer Media Founder Moses Znaimer), a new study suggests you confidently self-promote when you go for a job interview.

Researchers at the University of British Columbia say “self-promoters” have a better chance of success for professional opportunities than equally qualified applicants who are modest.  For the study, a number of participants were videotaped as they simulated the role of a job applicant.  An analysis of the recordings concluded that people who rated as narcissists were viewed as more attractive job candidates.

Further to this, the researchers say the findings suggest that applicants from cultures that place greater emphasis on humility may have a harder time landing a job in North America.
